Currently, India has become the fourth economy in the world and has become an influential regional and global power, which has been greatly facilitated by its successful foreign policy. In this article, India’s parliamentary diplomacy was considered as a significant factor in its international activities. India’s parliamentary diplomacy provides additional channels for its foreign policy, dialogue and mutual understanding between countries, while simultaneously being an instrument of "soft power". The peculiarities of India’s parliamentary diplomacy are related to its desire to balance the conflicting interests of other great powers, its focus on the traditional values of the Hindu civilization and its attempt to defend similar interests of the countries of the Global South.
