Abstract:
Transformational processes in society lead to a historical change and reassessment of values perceived as a sharp leap or revolution in culture. These cultural changes can be understood on the basis of a study of the value orientations of modern youth, the change of their meaning-based attitudes and transformations of national Russian values, which is what this article is devoted to. The conducted research is aimed at the categorical definition of youth, since it is the potential for the development of the country, on the one hand, and the unstable age category, on the other. The author's interest in one of its most important institutions, education, is conditioned in the axiosphere of culture. In the process of educational activity, the implementation of the educational function contributes to the transmission of cultural and moral values and moral and ethical norms, determining their historical continuity, the formation of a worldview in young people. The first part of the article is devoted to the conceptualization of the notion of value and the understanding of its interpretations within the frameworks of a number of scientific approaches. The second part demonstrates the essence of the axiosphere of culture, actualized in the activities of educational institutions, in the process of education and upbringing. The analysis of the concepts of education and upbringing is carried out. The interrelation of pedagogical activity in higher education institutions and the formation of value attitudes in young people is substantiated. In the empirical part of the study, the attitude of teachers to educational activities and to the formation of professional competence in students of Vladivostok State University (hereinafter – VVSU) is analyzed. The values inherent in modern youth are investigated, and the loss of some traditional Russian values is revealed. In conclusion, the author's definition of the category of youth values is given, conclusions are drawn, and prospects for further research are outlined.
