Regional features of unemployment in the Republic of Tatarstan (2010–2023)

Abstract (English):
The article considers the problem of unemployment in the Republic of Tatarstan. The dynamics of the registered unemployment rate for the period 2010–2023 is assessed, a stable downward trend is established. The analysis of the structure of the unemployed by gender, age and level of education is carried out. It is revealed that the maximum number of unemployed citizens is noted among women aged 35–49 with higher education, living in cities. Based on the data of the recruiting service HeadHunter, the ratio of the number of vacancies and resumes in the labor market of Tatarstan is studied. The values of the hh.index are analyzed in the context of professional areas, according to which the most attractive vacancies for residents of the republic are vacancies in the field of IT technologies and administrative work, the least in demand offers in the field of sales and service. The average value of the hh.index (3,9) indicates a shortage of applicants in the region. Regional differences in the level of unemployment in the context of municipal districts and cities of the republic are revealed. It has been established that the highest rates of registered unemployment are typical for the districts included in the Kazan and Kama agglomerations, the lowest rates are typical for the rural districts of the republic. A forecast of the registered unemployment rate for 2025 has been made, according to which the rate will decrease to 1,2 %.
